SA Fashion Week 2012

Hello Beauties!

So, of course I wasn’t  actually at the event, SAFW 2012, but I managed to catch some of it on SABC 3 and found some pics to share with all of you. There are simply too many collections to feature, so I chose a few that stood out – for me!

Day 1 (last week Thursday, March 29) hosted the likes of Rubicon, Gavin Rajah, Black Coffee, Tiaan Nagel and many others. The collections were all different, in that the focus and theme remained unique to each designer. While Rubicon celebrated the curves of real women, using well known personalities such as Pearl Thuli and Pabi Moloi (amongst others), as the models to represent the real South African woman.

Here are some pieces from the Rubicon collection:

Vesselina Pentcheva, who was also part of Day 1 at SAFW 2012, wowed the audience with elegant, yet still exciting, dresses. These are my favourite dresses from her collection:

Day 1 definitely started SAFW 2012 off with a bang, but my absolute winner of the night, has got to be none other than Gavin Rajah’s black and gold, slim fitted, low-back dress:

Day 2 hosted more the finest up and coming designers, such as Colleen Eitzen and Sies! Isabelle. Day 3 was probably my favourite day, as the wonderfully talented Craig Jacobs rocked his Fundudzi collection, true tribal style. The colours and prints are simly, rather cliche of me to say but – TO DIE FOR!

Th last day, which is for the introduction of new talent, showcased the creative styles of Lameez Claasen, who embraced this year’s trend of collars.

SAFW 2012, never disappointed! South African fashion is well on it’s way!
